Rising star Harry Keighley is returning for his second season with the team in the 2025 Sal’s NBL season.
After an impressive debut campaign in 2024, Keighley, a 6’8” forward from Napier, is set to take another step forward in his development with the Hawks. His ability to stretch the floor, combined with his size and athleticism, made him a valuable asset last season, and the team is thrilled to have him back.
Hawks General Manager Jarrod Kenny spoke highly of Keighley’s growth and dedication. “Harry was awesome last season and we have no doubt that he will continue to make an impact in 2025. His work ethic and commitment to improving his game are what make him such a valuable part of our squad.”
Head Coach Sam Gruggen echoed the sentiment, emphasising Keighley’s potential. “Harry is a young player with a tremendous upside. He is extremely coachable and has a willingness to put in the work, which makes coaching him an exciting prospect. We’re looking forward to seeing how he builds on his rookie season.”
Keighley, who played a key role in Napier Boys’ High School’s successful campaign following the Hawks season, also gained international experience in 2024 as part of the Harbour USA Tour.
Reflecting on his return, Keighley expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season. “I’m really excited to be back with the Hawks for another season. Last year was a great learning experience, and I’m ready to take the next step in my game. I can’t wait to get back on the court and compete with my teammates.”
With Keighley’s continued development and the strong foundation being built by the Hawks, the 2025 season promises to be an exciting one for the team and its supporters.
Keighley now joins Ezrah Eagle, Clifton Bush, Jacob Murphy and Jackson Ball on the 2025 Hawks squad.
